A Trip Down Memory Lane

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Hmm..

I've just started this book by Jodi Piccoult, Vanishing Acts and I stumbled upon this line that made my easily distracted mind wander again.

When you love someone, you want her to have everything she wants.

Not a sweet heart-warming quote. Just a simple sentence. Yet it still made me pause for a moment.

Don't you think its so true?

1 Cor. 13:4 - 5: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love is not self-seeking.

May it be family, friends, that special someone or even strangers. If we love someone, we put their needs before our own. Their hope and dreams before our own selfish desires.

Thats just a small part of the complicating thing we call love.

And yet I fail to do it most of the time.
