Why cockroaches?
Imagine the scene...a clear night. A bunch of carollers with lighted candles, gathering together...singing. Verses from Silent Night wafting all around. All is calm.
"Silent night..."
Something scuttles underneath our feet. "Cockroach!" yells someone.
ARGHHH! The screaming begins.
Not so silent anymore.
True story.
AHAHAHA! Lets just say that scene was hilarious. But here I am starting from the middle again. Lets rewind back a bit shall we....to the beginning of the day.
Thursday. Dec 23.
The day started off well enough. Jia ying, wei kit and my uncle decided on a trip to KL and I decided to tag along for a little bit of SHOPPING! Spent most of the day with jia ying scouting around Sungei Wang. I didn't buy anything! The horror. But jia ying on the other hand was happy with the goodies she bought. At the end, I was just all too happy to collapse on a booth with an ice cream in my hand.
Yum!
Went home and after a short nap and shower, aunty Irene graciously gave jia ying, bryan and I a ride to our meeting point for caroling! What followed was first a bus ride to the Tan family's place and then to aunty Kavitha's house (a family our church is sponsoring) and then to the Yeo's place! Praise God as well. It was drizzling at the starting but stopped when the carolling began. Yay! After a yummy dinner at Ben Yeo's place, Jia ying and I decided to forgo mamak session and headed home at 12am.
It was fun...spreading the Christmas cheer through carols....carrying candles! We even sang a CBC version of 12 Days of Christmas (complete with char siew paus and satays). Hilarious! XD The usual jokes, laughter and food made the night even more enjoyable!

Fast forward to Dec 25.

I like this cousin picture. =)
Jesus' Birthday. Christmas. The day I got baptised. =)
Along with Elson and his family, Wen Qi and her family and aunty Winnie. All together 10 people got baptised. Amazing right? I'm glad to be a part of it!
I was last in the line. Seeing how smoothly everyone else's baptism went helped calm my nerves a little. As aunty Winnie came down from the stage, pastor beckoned me to come up.
It was time.
I stepped into the pool. Cold! Hmm...shallower than usual.
I got into position.
Do you, sister Chan Su Ann believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Saviour and that He died to save you from all your sins?
I think that was what pastor said. Roughly. Yes its bad of me. I know I should have been paying more attention to the words Pastor was saying and the solemnity of the occasion but in my mind, what was going through was "Dont mess up, dont mess up".
So yups. I blanked out when pastor finished the sentence. O.o but I managed to say "err yea...yes".
Now the funny part. Ok so pastor asked me to squat down lower and I did. I thought he was gonna give me a heads up as to when he was gonna dunk me in.
A little 1, 2, 3?
As it is, immediately after I bent down, without warning he dunked me in. I wasn't ready! I always imagined baptisms to be all graceful...my baptism included. However, mine went something like this...

Arghhh!
With my legs flapping about like that? Not a pretty sight.
If it wasnt enough I had to say ARGHHH! when I went down, eyes opened and all. It must've been pretty loud. The whole church congregation heard that arghh. -.-"
Ahahahaha!

Happy smiles!
After a drying off etc and hanging about taking pictures and such, I had lunch with my sis and dad at pizza uno. On the way there, we passed by Adam! Apparently, the church gang were lunching at Logenhaus. So after lunch with the family, I headed over there to sibuk-sibuk. Hee!

I thought I was gonna spend Christmas at home this year as dad went off to a party but thank God for friends. =)
Jia Ying, Adam, Ivan and I didn't have anywhere to go....so we decided to spend christmas night together. We headed to subang parade and had dinner at Dave's Deli and ice cream at Gelatonimo! After that, it was off to Ivan's for a game of Saboteur. Its a mix of Mafia and Monopoly Deal. Hehehehe! Edward, Leonard and Rachel (Adam's friend) joined us too!
All in all...this years Christmas was different. I thought it would be a quiet affair. Instead it turned out to be a truly funny, enjoyable one with amazing company. Filled with laughter and smiles all around. =)
I usually spend Christmas with my family (dad, sis and I). This year...it was with a different family...
My second family..
Again it occurred to me how thankful I am to be a part of CBC.
Despite my flaws, embarrassing habits and complains, I feel accepted. A part of something...you know?

My CBC Family.
Thanks guys...for the truly merry christmas.
