The Lorax...

The following article appeared in the Star yesterday (10 March, Saturday) and I just gotta share it! The whole article is in rhyme. I think the author, Micheal Cheang deserves some recognition for this.

Thumbs up and a pat on the back to this fellow. I know it looks rather long...but READ IT!

Be Green, Not Mean - Micheal Cheang

This movie inspired me to rhyme,
I don't get to do this often, not all the time.
So please don't laugh at my feeble attempt,
Or regard me with too much contempt.

You see, The Lorax is based on a children's book.
It's by Dr Seuss, if you want to take a look.
It was first published way back in 1971,
Back when we did not know what was being done.

Dr Seuss saw a future where trees were scarce,
And warned us not to let it come to pass.
Sadly, we never heeded his warning,
And now we're stuck with global warming.

Yes, The Lorax is a story about being green;
A subject on which you might not be very keen.
Now that book has been made into a movie,
Spreading its message in IMAX 3D.

The show started with the Lorax narrating,
Oh, how thrilled I was to hear him rhyming.
He seem a bit too orange for my liking,
But at least he didn't look like a dumpling.

Since the book was as short as song,
The movie stretches it to 90 minutes long.
The main story of the book still prevails,
But it's now bookend by another tale.

This tale is about Ted, who is a little shy,
Voiced by Zac Efron, that High School Musical guy.
He likes a pretty girl (who talks like Taylor Swift),
And set out to prove that trees are not a myth.

Alrighty. This is as far as I go typing it. My hand hurts already. HAHA. But you get the idea. Isn't it creative? Darn.. :)

Personally the movie was alright. Not too bad but not the best. There were some touchy-feely moments that made me tear up a little.. And cute characters too! :)

So let me have a try,
at saying goodbye.
In a poem of a sort,
Please don't snort.

HAHAHAHHA! That's the best I can come up with. xD Til next time!
