One does not turn 21 everyday.
How was mine?
It all started with a phone call the night before.
Me: *humming while packing*
*What Are Words by Chris Medina plays - my ringtone*
Me: Hello?
Jia Ying: *sobs sobs SOBS*
Me: Jia Ying?! Are you ok?
Jia Ying: *cries somemore!*
Me: Ok you're not.... Take your time.
Jia Ying: Su Ann? *sobs sniffles sobs* can you come over right now?
Aunt in the background: Jia Ying... Everything ok?
Su Ann: Now? Ok, I'm coming.
Explains to family what happened. Sis says HAVE FUN before I leave. "Why would I have fun when Jia Ying is crying?"
Arrives and texts: I'm here.
Notices the lights turn off.
Text from Jia Ying: I'm so sorry, su ann.
Automatic gate opens by itself eeriely.
*gulps*
Opens the door to darkness.
SURPRISE!
Yeaps you guys got me. The one in black - keep an eye on her. She's the mastermind.
Thank you guys! For pulling off one of the biggest surprise I've ever had.
A handwritten and hand-drawn email from my dearest cousin! Super good eh? :D
Birthday lunch was spent at Plan B, Midvalley with Joyce and Amanda. My girls of 8 years of friendship!
Beautiful purse and string of photo memories!
Family dinner at TGIF, Subang Parade. Sadly, I was too nauseous to eat. Got home. Mum asked me to drink psyllium husk - puked big time.
Spent the night trying to sleep with a slight fever - thank God for the company I had. ;)
Well, I can't say it wasn't a memorable 21st alright.
So to paraphrase my cousin,
"When you're a kid, you look forward to being 16. Once you're 16, you look forward to being 21. Now that you're 21...what's next?"
